Social Ranks
Medieval society is a ladder called the Great Chain. Everyone is born to a rank — but the bold can climb it through trade, the sword, the Church, or the knife.
You rise in rank by earning standing (social points) from work, deeds and office.
| Rank | Standing required |
|---|---|
| Serf | 0 |
| Peasant | 15 |
| Freeman | 40 |
| Craftsman | 80 |
| Burgher | 140 |
| Gentry | 220 |
| Noble | 340 |
| Lord | 500 |
Each rank unlocks new careers, businesses, offices and marriages. Reaching Lord opens the endgame: holding court, ruling lands, and waging war.
